I was asked to develop a new bottle design for Cheer with Bounce Fresh Linen Scent. I began developing designs that incorporated the Cheer logo, color scheme and pattern, along with the Bounce logo, color scheme and illustration. The final design was mine and went into production.
In the meeting to decide on a final design direction I had this design hidden in a stack of designs that I had brought from the agency. I knew we were onto something with our work but they just weren't finding what they were looking for. After hearing the client describe their needs explicitly, I pulled this out of the stack and it was chosen on the spot.
While working with Downtown Partners Chicago one project I was asked to deliver on was Green Planet bottled water. With a 100% biodegradable bottle Green Planet is a unique provider for many destinations and events around the country. We were asked to think broadly about their website and image. The following design was chosen and presented to the client.
With the bottle literally growing on a tree we allowed for an opportunity to showcase the process, success and mission of the company in a unique layout and overview of their company.
While working at Sasaki Associates in Boston, I worked on a science and innovation hub in the University of Massachusetts. With the scope of our work mainly in one hallway we set out to make the center visible from this one narrow thoroughfare.
Tying in with the front desk which was designed by the Sasaki architecture team, yellow was chosen to give emphasis to the branding and the center itself.
Following a branding exercise, many words were chosen to describe the Center in the words of it's contributors and employees. I took some of the language that was developed in this exercise and used it to emphasize a fun and collaborative atmosphere.
While working with Kate Keating Associates in San Francisco, I was given the chance to work on 25 wayside signs with historical information that celebrated this former military base turned historic site.
Working closely with my creative director, various masks and image treatments were applied to each sign. The resulting typography and image were the result of a back and forth between our design team and the local historian with the Presidio. The final content and design were improved an installed onsite.
With three years and six internships in the making, my design experience with all of my co-ops was amazing. Each one was a formative piece in the puzzle for me to come to a closer understanding of form and content and how the interplay of the two make so much of design similar while always yielding something so refreshingly different.
